I wanted to talk about something different on my page today.
I was always fit and healthy, but after I got married and came back from ummrah in 2018, suddenly I was hit with severe pain and severe bleeding. Which wouldn’t stop, I had an op, I had a laparoscopic procedure done, I’ve tried countless hormone drugs, & pills but nothing has helped, till this day I am still suffering from an illness which you cannot see. I’m on a lot of pain meds, even oramorph. It’s made me lose my job, my independence, my appetite, my hair, my sanity and the only thing I’ve gained from it is my weight. I was a healthy size 8 2 years ago. I never openly discuss this or my physical & mental state, cause it’s seen as such a stigma to openly talk about periods in the south Asian society. But you need to raise awareness. If I’m active, out & about, even cooking or cleaning for one day, then that’s it, I’ll be bed bound for the next week. I’m constantly tired, constantly weak, I black out from the pain being so bad, I lose consciousness, to the point I’ve had days where I’ve blacked out, hit my head and had a black eye, or even broken my hand.
The pain is so severe and constant, it’s said to be the same as contraction pains. Hence why I feel like I’m giving birth. There’s a long process of being fully diagnosed with endometriosis & dealing with it. There is no cure. I’ve been to the nhs where they’ve looked at me and told me that I’m too “young” to be having these problems.! I’ve been private and I’ve tried everything.
I’ve learnt a lot of the last year and a half. And come to terms with is that my struggle is temporary and Allah has a plan for me. So whatever religion you are, please keep me in your prayers.

So, you all know I was planning to start my “new feed” but I wasn’t liking the pictures I took, so I’m waiting for some sunshine before I retake my new feed shots. 🙄
So here’s a product review. The @beautypie Super Retinol, you all know what retinol is, so I don’t need to go into that, I started using the Indeed Labs one, and it had a small percentage of retinol in it, so it took a while to notice a difference. I then purchased this one from @beautypie as I’ve heard so many amazing reviews. I applied this, and the texture was so soft however the fragrance was a bit weird. 🤓
As it contains 1% of retinol in the product. I only used it once a week, as I was trying to ease into it. At first I didn’t think this was causing me the breakouts, I thought it was something else. But I was using it for six weeks and realised that every time I used this, I’d breakout. Then I got told by a few of the girls that my skin was purging and any underlying spots I had were coming to the surface and to give it a few more weeks. Which I did, but my oh my, I carried on breaking out so severely, my skin was getting red, I had rashes, and really painful spots.
I had to stop using it, and allowed a chance for my skin to heal. I’ve now gone back to the Indeed labs retinol reface and will look into using a higher dose of a retinol once my skin has adjusted. This was a no from me. Which is sad, but it goes to show, just cause everyone else loves a product, does not mean you will love it too 🤭
